Back & spine pain
Chronic and acute discomfort, sciatica, posture-related issues, mild disc concerns — addressed at the source.
A traditional Indian healing practice that works on the spine as the body's central energy column. Meru — the cosmic mountain, the spinal axis. Chikitsa — therapy, treatment. Together: a quiet, profound practice for the part of you that holds everything together.

In ancient Indian thought, the spine is more than bone and nerve — it is Meru Danda, the central axis of the body, the channel through which life-force (prana) rises. When the spine is open, the whole system breathes. When it is held, everything from sleep to digestion to mood feels the strain.
Meru Chikitsa works gently along all thirty-three vertebrae using a blend of acupressure, soft manipulation, and breath-led energy work. Each vertebra is read as a doorway — to specific organs, to specific emotions, to specific patterns held in the body. Twenty years of practice have shaped Dr. Nisha's hands to listen at each one.
Book a SessionMeru Chikitsa is most often sought for spine-related issues, but its reach extends far beyond the back — because so much of the body's wellbeing is held in the spinal column.
Chronic and acute discomfort, sciatica, posture-related issues, mild disc concerns — addressed at the source.
Spines that have grown rigid from desk work, age, or stress — gently coaxed back into freedom.
The spine houses the central nervous system. Releasing it deeply settles minds that won't switch off.
The endocrine system runs along the spine. Specific vertebral work supports thyroid, adrenals, and reproductive balance.
Vertebrae in the mid and lower back connect to the digestive organs — work here often eases what diet alone cannot.
For bodies that carry the day in their shoulders and lower back — a release that feels like setting something down.
We begin with twenty minutes of listening. Your history, posture, current concerns, and any sensitive areas. Dr. Nisha reads the spine before she touches it.
40–50 minutes face-down on the table, fully clothed. Gentle pressure along the vertebrae, soft adjustments where needed, breath-led release through the energy channels. Most people drift into a deep, calm state.
A few minutes of stillness, then a slow return. Dr. Nisha shares observations and a few self-care movements you can do at home to extend the work.
The work goes deeper than muscle — into the nervous system, the meridians, the subtle body. You leave feeling lighter as well as looser.
No cracking, no forced adjustments. The body is invited, not pushed. Safe for older bodies, sensitive bodies, and those recovering from injury.
One session brings relief; a series of three to six brings real, lasting change. We design the right rhythm for your body together.
Meru Chikitsa, acupressure, and yoga work beautifully together — the yoga keeps the body open, acupressure addresses energy points, and Meru Chikitsa works the spinal column itself. Many of our students rotate all three.
The spine is the bridge between the body and the soul. When it is at peace, everything is at peace.— Traditional teaching
A single session gives you a sense of how Meru Chikitsa works. We design what comes next together.
